Our campsite is ideally located: in the middle of the dunes, right by the sea and a short distance from Nes. This means you can walk or cycle to the village for a drink on a terrace, an ice cream or a fun activity. But it's just as easy to walk straight from your tent or chalet onto the beach or into the dunes. The perfect combination of peace, nature and conviviality.

History and culture in Nes
Nes is bursting with stories. Admire the characteristic commanders' houses that recall the days of whaling, and visit the Ameland Culture Museum, where a permanent exhibition brings Ameland's religious heritage and rich history to life. Or stroll past the old church and soak up the atmosphere of its rich past.

Ameland Nature Centre
One place you should definitely not miss in Nes is the Nature Centre. You literally cannot miss it: in front of the entrance is an impressive, life-size replica of a young blue whale, a real eye-catcher. Inside, you will discover much more about the nature of Ameland, from interactive exhibitions to aquariums full of Wadden Sea life. For children, the barefoot path is a great adventure. An educational and fun outing for the whole family.

Nes is bustling with activity all year round. In summer, there is a lively market every week, and events such as the Rôggefeest or Horizontoer bring the village to life. It's just a stone's throw from the campsite, ideal for a day filled with music, street theatre and local delicacies.
