Can I take my car on the ferry to Ameland?

If you have booked a chalet or woodlodge, bed linen and bath towels are automatically included. For glamping tents, bed linen is optional. You can bring your own or hire it on arrival. Kitchen linen can be hired separately

No, pets are not permitted at Strandcamping Duinoord in order to protect the peace and quiet and nature.

When is the campsite open?

The campsite is open from the end of March to the end of October, as are the glamping tents and other rental accommodations. However, Midgaard Holiday Home is open all year round.

Can I drive my car onto the campsite?

Cars are only permitted on the campsite upon arrival and departure (loading and unloading). Upon arrival, you can first unload your luggage and then park your car in the campsite's central car park (paid) or in a free public car park just outside the campsite (about 150 metres from the reception).

Certainly! A visit to the Nature Centre with its barefoot path is always a success. You can also explore Nes with a photo treasure hunt (available from the VVV tourist office). In addition, there are plenty of places to get an ice cream or find a playground.

Is Nes also enjoyable in the early and late seasons?

Absolutely! The village is a little quieter then, but just as charming. Many shops and restaurants are open all year round.

No, pets are unfortunately not allowed in the rental tents or on our campsite.

Each rental tent has comfortable beds and chairs, a cooker, refrigerator and kitchen utensils, lighting and power points. Depending on the type, there are extras such as an awning, heating, barbecue or even private sanitary facilities.

Do the glamping tents have toilets?

This varies depending on the glamping tent. The Glamlodge Tent Premium has its own private bathroom with a shower and toilet. When staying in one of the other glamping tents, you can use the modern, well-maintained toilet and shower facilities at Strandcamping Duinoord.

The beach is only a few minutes away on foot. A path through the dunes takes you directly to Ameland’s wide sandy beach.

Certainly. There are several glamping tents that are suitable for families. In addition, the campsite is child-friendly.

From 2027, we’ll have a new, fully equipped tent at Duinoord: the Sunlodge, which sleeps five. It features two sleeping cabins, a private kitchen and a spacious covered terrace. This way, you can enjoy camping in the dunes with all the comforts of a fully equipped accommodation.

More convenience whenwashing dishes and showering

Good news! From 2027, hot water at the washbasins and washing-up areas at Duinoord will be free of charge. You’ll still need to pay for showers using a chip card, which you can buy and top up at reception. A shower lasts 5 minutes. Would you like to shower for longer? From 2027, you’ll be able to start a new shower straight away by holding your chip card up to the card reader again.
